Chapter 2

   Shi Yu hung up the phone under the stunned gazes of her parents. Very soon, Lu Jingye called back. Shi Yu frowned slightly and answered the call again. "What is it now?" Lu Jingye’s tone was harsh. "What’s wrong with you? Do you think breaking up is something you can just say on a whim? I've just been busy these past two days and didn’t have time to check in on you—is that really worth making such a fuss over? Let me tell you—" "Sorry, we've already broken up. Chapter 1

   Shi Yu lay on the bed, completely still, like a salted fish without dreams—or even life. If someone were to walk over and take a closer look, they would see that her eyes were open, fixed firmly on the ceiling, only blinking after a long while. After a while, Shi Yu finally moved. She slowly raised her hand, covering her eyes with the back of it, then sighed wearily and muttered, "What the hell is this!" The room was incredibly quiet, with only the sound of her breathing. The thick curtains blocked out the sunlight from outside. Shi Yu kept her hand over her eyes, continuing to lie motionless on the bed like a corpse. Before long, someone pressed down on the door handle of the room. Since Shi Yu had locked the door from the inside, the attempt was unsuccessful.
